Building history.
The Barbou family had a new castle-like country house built around 1880.
This included two eighteenth-century towers, which became the corner towers of the new Ter Borgh in Neo-Renaissance style.
These towers, built in brick with natural stone blocks and bands, have three storeys under an onion-shaped crowned roof.
Built in the 19th century, between the two towers, there are two storeys, the central part of which rises and is enclosed by a stepped gable with diagonal pilasters and natural stone decorations.
The two-storey rear façade is nine bays wide, with a stepped gable terminating the corner and central livestock.
In 1971 a fire broke out in the manor house, and in the 1980s a major restoration was carried out to restore Ter Borch to its former glory. Since then, the building has had a residential function again.
