HISTORICAL NOTES
This is the house that the Elberta peach built. Samuel Henry Rumph and his wife lived in this beautiful Classical Revival mansion. In fact, Rumph named his famous peach after his wife. He made a fortune after he developed both the Elberta peach and an iced shipping crate to get it to market, and gave free reign to architect Peter Dennis to design this home. Rumph moved in in 1094 and lived here until his death in 1922.
