7943 Steuben St, Holland Patent, NY 13354 $92,000 SOLD

NOTES
I love this fixer upper house. It is one of three Italianates, most likely constructed by the same builder with a few variations. I wish the exterior had kept more original elements, but the interior has a wonderful staircase and an amazing floor to ceiling kitchen cupboard. The kitchen must have been updated in the 1940s or ’50s with the addition of steel cabinetry. This type, with the built in flour, sugar, salt bins, etc. over the sink, are indeed rare to find intact today.
You may be curious about the name of the town. Holland Patent was named after the original land grant. Lord Henry Holland was granted 20,000 acres which was later sold off in 100 acre lots. Today the village, known for its four historic stone churches, has a population of about 460.
